Thanks for video. My question is about how can ı reproduce 2th order ambisonics correctly? I mean is there any recomandation from İTU or AES for ambisonic speaker placement for 2th order or 3th order ambisonics?

ambisonics is psychoacoustic. How can a sound wave coming from 4 speakers be perceived as coming from a single point? With four speakers, the brain receives 8 versions of the signal. My brain decodes this as diffuse mono. As I move about the space, the time and phase differences remain frozen in the space. No two people will hear the same thing, so how can a signal be 'produced' that works in all spaces for all locations. The same goes for the microphone of the same name. Be well, and listen carefully.

I'd rather have something that is actually solves a problem for me than being scientific about a subject way too complex for me to draw my own conclusions. The simple fact is. I had a problems, towels solved a problem that no other source could. I needed a practical and simple sound dampening method to prevent the noise of my equipment disturbing my daughter's sleep. That worked better than anything else. No foam could do what cheap towels finally solved and I can now work in peace and I don't really care if it's reflective or not. So, before dismissing a solution you'd first need know what problem it will solve. And that is impossible to account for everyone. It would likely help a lot more to simply enrich that video instead of just pointing out its flaws, by going over the applicability of each solution. A complimentary video would be better for everyone

On my 7.1 system it only plays front left, front right, rear right and rear left--nothing else.

Thanks man I have a Soundblaster X4 external splitting off 5.1 audio to an old Sony with the remaining 2 channels going to an old kenwood to drive the surrounds--for my PC 7.1 system. It sounds pretty chron to be honest. All my surrounds are Klipsh from the old pro media 5.1 system My monitors are the Kenwoods LS-VH7s the center is a Polk CS175i and the sub is a Polk 500 Watt 8 inch something for home audio. Sometimes I get center channel and sometimes I don't. I know the youtube does some weird stuff with audio but I wasn't sure what until you broke it down for me.

I have sound sensitivity so I hear anything even against my ear will it still help?

Binaural means having the microphones in human sized silicone ears, NOT ambisonic or any other sound. The whole concept relies on the fact that our outer ears (the visible part) play a role in hearing that is just as important as the intricate network of organs that is in the middle and inner ear. For example if a persons outer ears are amputated they will perceive sound in a much different way than a regular human would, since they are missing a crucial part of their auditory system. So microphones in ears = Binaural; no ears =/= Binaural. The two are different concepts. You can render all you want, but you will never get exact binaural.

The default DearVR settings give you a stereo signal by default - you are essentially comparing stereo VS stereo. The New DearVR Pro2 now provides stereo audio positioning. Ideally you'd want to pan/position the audio source, distance and Height assigned to envelopes. A good layering distance is between 3.5 and 5 and you can widen the stereo field. DearVR comes with it's own Reverb system but ultimately I imagine a plugin that we can send all our audio sources to and see them in the 3D panner to position them independently.

DTS:X® is not a virtual surrlund sound format. It is however a object-based, spatial audio format but is backwards compatible. I believe you are talking about DTS®:Headphone:X™ or DTS Virtual:X™ or DTS:X Ultra. Regular DTS:X carries a DTS-HD Master Audio 7.1 track, and Dolby Atmos® usually a E-AC3 or TrueHD 7.1 track, which are lossless but has discrete channels, and a masterfile for metadata for spatial processing or upmixing, so that DTS Headphone:X for example can output that audio by using the included metadata sheet which for Dolby Digital and DD+ was meant for dynamic range compression or in Dolby Digital, called 'night mode'. It works by decreasing the delta of the lowest and highest sounds by leveling out the differences in volume so that dialog can ve heard at lower volume, e.g 'night mode'.

Because I have enjoyed his videos in the past and he seemed like he knew what he was doing, I believed him. Looks like I need to shell out a bit more money to get what I actually need. You didn't really say which you should choose as a gamer though. I practically never play brand new releases and only update my driver a few times a year. I went to update my driver today and I saw the studio driver and the game ready driver are the same version and released on the same day. So then the question becomes: Given the same version number and release date, which would be better for a gamer? If they released on the same day with the same version number, does the gameready driver contain the same amount of stability as the studio driver? I would imagine that they would update the gameready driver with the stability tweaks from the studio driver. If that's not the case then wouldn't it be better to install the studio driver, even if you're just gonna be gaming?

Do you know if there are any plugins that allow you to monitor the ambisonics in a surround speaker array (as opposed to the Resonance plugin doing the binaural monitoring)? My current setup is 5.1 so I think if I use the decoders it's going to send the ambisonics to L, R, C and LFE but I'd want those four ambisonics channels to go to L, R, Ls and Rs. I have a 7.1 system. When I play UA-cam it plays through all the speakers except for the subwoofer. I have never been able to make it work. I even had a tech guy come over to fix something once and he said he’s never seen that problem with any system except mine. It’s very frustrating, because I would love to play UA-cam music videos on my surround sound. I don’t think I’ll ever figure it out
